Wet Suits
Wetsuits insulate the diver by allowing a small amount of water to be trapped between the suit and your skin. The suit's neoprene material has closed gas bubbles which conduct heat slowly, thereby insulating you. the thicker the suit, the warmer you will be. a snug fit is important to minimize the water flow between your skin and the suit. 1-3mm thick suits are appropriate for water temperatures above 75 degrees F. 5-7mm suits are for colder water below 75 degrees. Styles include shorties (short sleeves, short pants), jumpsuits (long sleeve, long pants) and two-piece suits including a farmer john and jacket combination.
