Snorkels

A snorkel allows you to breathe at the surface without lifting your head. Standard equipment for scuba divers, the snorkel will help conserve air while swimming to and from your descent/ascent points. Snorkels may be as simple as a J-shaped tube with a mouthpiece on one end, or have on-way purge valves to make expelling water much easier. Some snorkels have splash guards on the top end to minimize water splashing in from wave action or may incorporate dry valves which automatically close the snorkel when water comes in contact with the top end.
